Let Your Life Ferment
It can be easy to get caught up in the feeling that you have to be doing it all, right now. With so many things to accomplish, goals to chase, and ideas to execute, it sometimes feels like if we don’t move quickly, we’ll miss out on something important.
The truth is… Life is a long time. There's no need to rush.
Take it from me—my life has been a journey of many chapters, each unfolding at its own pace. Some things I started years ago, and some are brand new. Here’s a snapshot of the milestones that have shaped my path:
35 years ago, I started raising 4 kids (I had all 4 within 5 years!).
32 years ago, I started teaching fitness classes.
16 years ago, I started drinking raw milk.
12 years ago, I began exploring the world.
11 years ago, I became a certified health coach.
9 years ago, I started producing the Wise Traditions podcast for the Weston A. Price Foundation.
6 years ago, I began seeking the sunrise every morning.
5 years ago, I started intentional cold adaptation.
And in the last year, I’ve:
Launched my Health for the Long Haul course and Holistic Hub community
Traveled to Mexico, Ireland, Canada, and Albania 🌎
Now, I’m not sharing this list to brag or to give the impression that I’ve been doing everything at once! Far from it. I want to show you just how many years this journey has stretched over. Life comes in a series of stages. You don’t have to do everything at once, and you certainly don’t have to rush through it!
Each chapter has been meaningful in its own right, and some things fermented for years before they truly came to fruition.
So, what does this mean for you?
If you’re feeling like you have to have it all together and be doing all the things right now, take a deep breath. It’s okay to be present in the chapter you’re in today. You can have all the things you want—but it doesn’t have to be all at the same time. If you’re in a season of planting seeds, that’s just as valuable as the season of harvest. Don’t worry about changing the world if you have enough on your plate being the world for your babies!
Life isn’t a race. There’s beauty in taking things slow and allowing each part of your journey to unfold in its own time. Like fermentation— you can’t rush the process. Just let it bubble and savor the flavor that develops with every stage!
And when it’s time to act, the energy will be there for you. It’ll be the right moment to pursue your next big thing, to make the changes you’ve been dreaming of. Until then, trust in the process, and let your life ferment.
You’ve got this! 🧡
